The secret of our wines
Good wine is made in the vineyard
Aware that the quality of the wines depends on and originates mainly from the quality of the vineyards, the environment in which they are grown, and the love that is dedicated to them, every action in the field is always devoted to the utmost conservation of balance and harmony with nature.
The total extension of the planted area is about 10 hectares, distributed in three different areas. One hectare of vineyard is located in the town of Codrongianos (Sassari) where the operational headquarters are located. It is located in the countryside of the town of Florinas, a small hilly town in the hinterland of north-west Sardinia, about 400 metres above sea level and a few kilometres from the winery. The central body, of about 7 hectares and more recently planted, is located in Su Frigadore, while another two hectares of vineyards are located on the slopes of the hill called Corona Majore which was first planted in 1965.
Among the different grape varieties bred by the company are the native Cannonau, Vermentino and Moscato together with imported varieties such as Incrocio Manzoni and Cabernet Sauvignon. The training system is espalier for both bodies with spurred cordon and guyot pruning. The interventions in the vineyard are extremely limited with agronomic management that strongly limits the use of phytosanitary products and chemical synthesis products. In the field, we are committed to using the best cultivation processes, respectful of the environment, nature and humans, timing and processing techniques.
The value of biodiversity in an agronomic and rural environment is a concept that goes beyond the method of cultivation without pesticides and chemical fertilisers; it means respecting, protecting and encouraging a delicate and complex habitat.
